What Is Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic is the largest drug-free healing profession in the world. It is based on the scientific fact that your nervous system controls the function of every cell, tissue, organ, and system in your body.

Chiropractors are specially trained doctors who work to promote health by correcting a serious and common problem known as Vertebral Subluxation.

What Is Vertebral Subluxation?
Our spine consists of 24 spinal bones called vertebrae.

They surround and protect the spinal cord, which is the main "communication cable" the brain uses to send messages to and from the body. Nerves exit between each pair of vertebra. They are like wires connecting the spinal cord to the rest of the body. Vertebrae can become misaligned, due to trauma or other stresses, causing a short circuit in the nerves. This is called a vertebral subluxation.

The result is interference in the communication between the brain and the body. We notice it as pain or illness.

What Chiropractic Techniques Are Used?
Chiropractors correct subluxations by using an "adjustment" to correct the misalignment. Within the chiropractic profession there are many different approaches that chiropractors use. These various approaches are called "techniques."

What makes the approach that we use at our office unique, is that we use the latest in technology to tell us when you need an adjustment. We believe that too much adjusting is not good for you.

What Does Research Say About Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic care has been known to help with these conditions: Top

Why do you want to adjust my neck, when the problem is in my low back?
Research and clinical studies, spanning over 50 years, have found that if there is a vertebral subluxation at the very top of the neck, this causes the entire spine (and body) to become unhealthy and unstable.

These studies have also found that if the upper neck is carefully studied and precisely adjusted, the entire spine will regain health and stability without the need for adjustments throughout the spine.

The Upper Cervical Specific approach is designed to help you regain spinal health with the least amount of adjusting.

What About X-Rays & Adjustments?
The Upper Cervical Specific adjustment, because of its precise correction of the upper neck subluxation, depends on accurate, precision x-rays.

The special series taken in our office allows your chiropractor to analyze the joints of the neck in great detail, and "custom design" your adjustment.

What Does This Mean to Me?
At our office, you can be sure you are receiving the highest quality of chiropractic care. The Upper Cervical Specific Technique is aimed at helping you regain your health with the least amount of adjusting possible. Because your body aligns itself after the upper neck is properly adjusted, the body quickly becomes stronger and more stable. The Upper Cervical Specific Technique is based upon the work developed by Dr. B.J. Palmer at Palmer Chiropractic College. Further refinements are due to the work of Drs. Blair and Kale who recognized the value of upper cervical adjusting.
